Off he goes.....

It seems totally unreal that my baby is FIVE...and heading to kindergarden. This morning, watching his small little being enter those big school doors was both emotional and exciting. My 6 pound baby boy who turned me into a momma is now heading out into the world...five years later. His sweet grin, his shy awkward-ness and his obvious excitement all made me tear up while letting go of his little hand to explore his new classroom and meet his new teacher. This is the beginning...to so many things. This sensitive little boy is apart from us to explore. To learn. To grow. And of course I worry....as she gave Lyrik the lowdown as to what a day in her class entails, I panicked that all this information was not setting in, was not being remembered....that he might just be too young for this kindergarden responsibility. Who am I kidding. This social boy we have raised is very ready and I reminded myself once back in the car that there will be many others in the same shoes. That he will be amongst other little people adjusting to this new daily routine of exploring, learning and growing.

He feels extra special to me today. I am an extra proud momma:).
